A Game Of Truth

Took me a while to find him. The Board is practically unrecognizable now, so finding the damn place was hard. Seriously, how do a bunch od fucking Blood Vessels do this much damage to a place?
Anyway, I found him waiting, in the exact same place he and I had our first children's card game.
"'Bout fuckin' time you made it," he said. "You ready?"
"Of course I am," I told him.
"Exellent!" he said, as a portal opened right next to him. "Follow me!"
"You mean we aren't dueling here?" I asked.
"No," he said. "This is just the meeting ground. Out real duel will take place on the sixth layer."
"Come again?" I asked.
"Hehe, you said 'come'," he chuckled.
"Oh for the love of...," I muttered. "What the hell is the sixth layer and why are we going there?"
"I'll explain on the way," he said, stepping through the portal.
I guess I had no choice but to follow him. It was a wird trip. We passed through worlds I can't eve begin to describe. And Gordon kept talking te whole way.
"You see," he explained to me. "The place we first dueled is a LAyer Break, and area where the boundery between layers is weak, allowing transit between them. There's multiply layers of reality. Our world and the domains of the Fear exist on the first layer. Mana exists on the second. The Old Ones exist even further down."
"I reasearched the Cthulhu Mythos some after our last duel," I informed him. "Crazy stuff."
"Yes, indeed," he said. "R'Lyeh is a mere fragment of the layer they call home. However, we will not be seeing them today. Layer number six is our destination."
"So, quick question," I said. "Why duel at all? I could just kill you now and be done with it."
"No you couldn't," he said.
"And why not?" I asked.
"Because Jack's a douchebag," he said. "When I was revived, Jack did something to me. He made it so that I can't be killed, except in a duel."
"But I beat you before, and you'e still here," I pointed out.
"You see, that's where it gets tricky," he said. "I can lose a duel and still live, but if my life points hit zero do to an attack or effect of a Fear card, it's over for me."
"So, in our last duel, when you used Spellbinding Circle...," I said.
"Protecting myself from your Fear card," he said. "If you had attacked me with it, I would have died."
"I see," I said. "Interesting weakness."
"We're here," he said.
We had stopped on a transparent platform overlooking a magnificent garden. At least, it started out as a garden, but then it decided to turn into a swamp, then a desert, then a jungle, then a garden, then a jungle again... etc.
"Weird," I said.
"Yeah, the landscape on this particular part of the sixth layer can never seem to make up its mind," Gordon said.
"So what's so great about this place that we have to duel here?" I asked.
"You see, in this place, the conditions are just right," he said.
"For what?" I asked.
"A game of truth," he said.
"Say what?" I asked.
"The rules are simple," he explained. "Each time one of us loses life points, a vision will be revealed to us. These visions will build up to a great truth. A revelation, if you will."
"Why?" I asked.
"There are questions I want answered, and a game of truth will help me find those answers," he said.
"And what if I kill you in this duel?" I asked. "Those answers won't do you much good if you're dead."
"I'm a Star Spawn," he said. "I'm telepathically linked to my Shoggoths, Veis, Vocallass, and Etra."
"Who's Etra?" I asked. "I don't think I've met that one yet."
"Elf chick," he said. "Anyway, all truths I learn will be transmitted to them. If I die, the knowledge I obtain will still be of help to them. They have their orders of what to do after I'm gone. I took quite a few precautions, in case I don't make it back."
"I see," I said.
"You have questions of your own," he said. "I can see it."
He was right. My wings, the gauntlet. How I was able to beat the dragon. Who the Ace Of Chaos really is. And most importantly, why all this card game shit always happens to be. I had questions, and a game of truth might help me get some god damn answers.
"You're on," I said. "You lost last time, so you pick who goes first."

"I'll start," he said. "I summon Axe Dragonute in attack mode!"
A familiar ax weilding dragon appeared, with 2000 attack points.
"That guy?" I asked.
"I figured that I'd use my old deck for this," he said. "Same deck as our first duel."
"I see," I said.
"Not exactly the same though," he said. "I've added a few new tricks, such as this guy. I summon Kagetokage!"
A lizard-like shadow appeared on the ground. It was a level 4 dark monster.
"I can special summon this guy when I bring out a level 4 monster," he said. "Now, I activate the spell card Ultimate Overlay! Now, if I perform an xyz summon with these two monsters, the newly summoned monster will gain attack power equal to its rank times 200, and then I can attach this card to it as an overlay unit!"
"Uh oh," I said out loud. He was already planning an xyz summon.
"I build the overlay network with these two level 4 monsters!" he said. "With them, I xyz summon Fiery Archer OF The Brute!"
A man in black and crimson clothing appeared, carrying a flaming longbow. He was a fire attribute with 2000 attack and 450 defense. Ultimate Overlay powered it up to 2800, and then became a new overlay unit for it.
"My monster has three overlay units," Gordon said. "And once per turn, I can use one of them to dish out 200 damage for each card in your hand!"
Shit. I had five cards, so that was 1000 damage. His monster fired a flaming arrow straight at me. My life dropped to 7000, ad for a moment, everything around me faded. I could see an airport. On the inside. Two people were sitting in chairs, waiting for someone to arrive. I recognized them at once. My mom and dad. But they were young. It must have been before I was born.
"Aren't you excited?" my mom asked. "You're finally going to meet my relatives!"
"One of your relatives," my dad said. "So what does this brothr of yours do again?"
"He's a supervisor of the UK branch of Coins Inc.," she said.
"Hey, sis!" called a voice from a distance away. "This the great husband of the year you were telling me about?"
This man looked oddly familiar, and spoke with a strong British accent.
"David!" my mom called, running over and hugging the an tightly. "Yes, this his him. Carl, come over here and say hi!"
The vision faded away. I was back a the duel.
"I end my turn," Gordon said. "You're up to bat, kid."

"I draw!" I said. "I'll start with the spell card Hallowed Birth! This card can be special summoned in defense mode as a SlenderProxy Hallowed!"
My spell card took the form of a masked man with an operator symbol on his jacket. He was level 3 with 0 atk and 1000 defense.
"Next, I normal summon Slender The Third in attack mode!" I said.
A figure resembling the Slender Man appeared. It was level 4 with 500 attack points.
"Next, I set two cards and end my turn," I said.

"My move," Gordon said. "I summon Flamvell Grunika in attack mode!"
His monster was a level 4 fire dragon with 1700 attack points.
"I'll save Archer's effect for later," Gordon said. "I can't attack with him if I use it, so I'll just save his overlay units for now. Instead, I'll attack the Third with Flamvell Grunika!"
"I'm afraid not," I said. "The Third can't be attacked while I have another Slender or SlenderProxy card out."
"Then I'll attack Hallowed Birth!" he declared.
His dragon destroyed my Hallowed.
"Now, Grunika's effect deals you damage equal to your monster's level times 200!" he said.
His dragon attacked me again, dealing me 600 damage. I slipped into another vision. I saw my father and my mom's brother... my uncle, I guess... talking.
"So, how long have you been with the bank?" my dad asked.
"Oh, Coins Inc. isn't a bank," my uncle said. "It's actually a health inspection agency. Been with them since I was a teenager."
"So why's it called Coins?" my dad asked. My uncle simply shrugged.
"No idea," he said.
"Well, I'm gonna go get a drink," my dad said. "Care to join me?"
"I'd love to," my uncle said.
Vision ended again. Back to dueling.
"Now that your Hallowed is out of the way, I can attack with my Archer," Gordon said.
"It's not out of the way yet," I said. "I activate the trap card Hallowed Replacement! When a SlenderProxy Hallawed is destroyed, this trap card can be special summoned in defense mode as a Hallowed!"
My trap became a SlenderProxy Hallowed, level 3 with 1000 attack and defense.
"Then I'll just have my Archer attack that instead!" Gordon said.
The attack hit, but my monster survived.
"Sorry," I said. "But Hallowed Replacement can't be destroyed in battle this turn."
"I end my turn," Gordon said.

"I draw!" I said. "Next, I switch my Hallowed to attack position and equip him with my face down Magnum Shield! Since he's a warrior type, he now gains attack power equal to his defense!"
My Hallowed had it's power increased to 2000.
"Next, I normal summon Slender The Second!" I said.
Another Slender Man look alike appeared. It was level 4 with 1500 attack points.
"The Second gains 500 attack for every other Slender Or SlenderProxy card I control," I explained. "But that's not the best part. By tributing the Second and the Third, I can call forth Slender Man from my deck!"
There was a surge of power as Slender Man appeared before me.
"And that's not all!" I said. "Slender Man will now gain the powers of the Second and Third! Meaning he gains 500 attack for each Slender or SlenderProxy card I control aside from itself, and he can't be attacked while I have out another Slender Or SlenderProxy monster!"
Slender Man rose to 3000 attack points.
"Next, I attack Flamvell Grunika with my Hallowed," I said. His monster was destroyed, and his life dropped to 7700. He seemed to enter a trance for a couple moments. He was having a vision of his own. Then he snapped out of it.
"Next, I attack your Archer with Slender Man!" I said.
He receieved 200 damage, then went into another short trance. His monster was unharmed.
"Why wasn't your monster destroyed?" I demanded.
"Archer's bonus ability," he said. "If he would be destroyed in battle, I can instead detach all of his overlay units. Then, you take 500 damage for each overlay unit removed.
"Shit!" I exclaimed.
The archer absorbed both of its overlay units into an arrow, then fired it at me. My life dropped to 5400. I slipped into a vision again. I saw my dad, as the Phantasm, in his third form. He was weilding his gatling guns, fighting a groupof robed figured. However, their numbers seemed to be working in their favor, because he was losing. They grappled him with chains, trying to bind him.
"Give up!" one of them barked.
"I don't think so," he said.
Suddenly, he changed. He was a teenagr, with long black hair. He wore all back, street clothing, and his guns turned into solid gold revolvers. I had only seen him use 3 forms. I had no idea he could go further than that. I also didn't realize he had a bishonen line...
Several multiples of him suddenly appeared, gunning down all the cloaked people. I guess he can clone himself in his fourth form.
Vision ended.
"Do to Archer's effect, you get to draw one card for each overlay unit that was just removed," Gordon said.
I drew 2 cards.
"I set one card face down and end my turn," I said.

"My turn," Gordon said, drawing. A broad grin spread over his face. "I'll start by summoning Alexandrite Dragon," he said.
His new monster was a light attribute with 2000 attack points.
"next, I'll use a little gift Jack gave me," he said, as his right hand started glowing with an eerie red light. "I activate Rank-Up Magic- All Force!"
"What does that do?" I demanded.
"This card lets me use an xyz monster to summon a Red Hand xyz monster that's a rank higher!" he said. "Now, I use Fiery Archer Of The Brute to xyz summon Red Hand- Black Knight Of The Brute!"
A new monster appeared. It was a rank 5 dark monster, clad in black armor, with 2800 attack power.
"Now, I'll have Alexandrite Dragon attack your Hallowed!" he said.
Both monsters had the same attack power, so they bother were destroyed. Slender Man's attack returned to normal.
"Now, I'll have my Black Knight attack Slender Man!" he said. "And by detaching an overlay unit, your monster will lose 1000 attack points, along with its effect!"
Slender Man was reduced to 1500, and was destroyed. I lost 1300 life points, bringing me down to 4100.
New vision. The aftermath of my dad's fight. He was back in his first form, with his hood up. The Scientist was with him.
"No Scions here," the Scientist said, dissapointed. "Just cultists. Would have been nice to imprison a piece of the Vision."
"Our orders are to destroy all fragments of her," my dad said. "Not use them for ourselves."
"I know," the scientist said. "I'm just saying, it would have made an interesting experiment."
"Our orders are to destroy allthat is left of the Vision," my dad said. "Both her Scions and her descendants, no matter who they might be."
End vision.
"I activate the effect of The Third from my graveyard!" I said. "When Slender Man is destroyed, I can bring back the Second and the Third. However, neither of them can be tributed again."
"I end my turn," Gordon said.

"My turn!" I said. "I summon SlenderProxy Guardian in attack mode!"
My level 4 monster appeared, ready to fight for me.
"Next, I play Mirror Of Slender!" I said. "By banishing Slender Man from my graveyard, I can now use a spell card from your graveyard! And I choose Ultimate Overlay!"
"Damn it!" Gordon said.
"Now, if I xyz summon this turn, this card will become an overlay unit for the xyz monster, and it'll gain 200 attack times its rank! Now, I build the overlay network with these 3 level 4 dark monsters in order to xyz summon Ren, The Thorned Prince!"
Ren appeared, with 4 overlay units. Due to Ultimate Overla's effect, his attack rose from 2800 to 3600.
"Now, I play the equip spell card Stoic Challenge!" I said. "Now, Ren will gain 600 attack for each of his overlay units, brining him up to 6000! Also, any famage he inflicts is doubled! Now, attack!"
"I activate the effect of The Black Knight!" Gordon said. "Any damage I take from a battle involving him is cut in half!"
He took 3200 damage, bringing him down to 4300. He entered another trance.
"I end my turn," I said.

"I draw," he said. "I set one monster in defense mode and end my turn."
"The effect of Stoic Challenge now activates," I said. "It will be destroyed, along with the equipped monster. Then, I play the trap card Overdraw. When an xyz monster I control is destroyed by a card effect, I can draw a card for each of its overlay units. So now I get 4 new cards."
"Fine," Gordon said.

"My turn," I said. "I summon SlenderProxy Mechanic."
My level 3 tuner appeared.
"Then, since I summoned a SlenderProxy, I can bring out SlenderProxy Thug," I said.
My level 4 thug joined my Mechanic on the field.
"Now, I tune lever 3 Mechanic to my level 4 Thug!" I said. "Now, I synchro summon my own Archer! Come forth, SlendArcher!"
A faceless man, in black Robin Hood-like clothing appeared, holding a greatbow with a quiver across his back. He had 2500 attack and 0 defense.
"SlendArcher's name is treated as Slender Man while he's face up on my field or in my graveyard," I said. "Now, I'll have him attack your face down card!"
"My face down card is Masked Dragon," Gordon said. "When this card is destroyed, I can summon a dragon from my deck with 1500 or less attack, so I'll bring out Magna Drago!"
A level 2 tuner appeared on his field, with 1400 attack points.
"I end my turn," I said.

"My move," Gordon said. "I summon Armageddon Knight, and with his effect, I send Red Eyes Black Draon from my deck to the graveyard. Then, I tune level 2 Magna Drago to my level 4 Armageddon Knight to synchro summon my level 6, Ultimate D. Human!"
A man with dragon-like features, carrying a sword carved from a dragon fang appeared. He had 2300 attack and 1100 defense.
"He may not be as strong as your Archer, but He'll suffice," he said. "Once per turn, Ultimate D. Human can send a dragon from my hand to the graveyard to gain half of its attack power. However, monsters he attacks won't be destroyed. So, I'll discard a second Red Eyes to power him up by 1200! Now, attack!"
His monster rose to 3500, and attacked, dealing me 1000 damage. I had another vision. My mom and dad, in a hospital. My mom was lyong in bed, holding a small bundle. Oh, look, it's a little baby me. How cute. I think I'm gonna barf...
"Have you thought of a name?" she asked my dad.
"I was considering David," my dad said.
"After my brother?" she asked.
"What?" he said. "It's a nice name."
"I suppose it is," she said.
My dad looked up. Standing in the doorway was a tall, tan man, waering tattered clothes. It didn't take me too long to realize who it was. The Game Master, in his human form. My mom didn't seem to notice him.
"I'm gonna go get us some sodas," my dad said. "To celebrate."
"Okay," she said. "Don't take too long."
The vision ended.
"I set a card and end my turn," Gordon said.

"I draw!" I said. "I use The Warrior Returning Alive to return SlenderProxy Thug from my graveyard to my hand. Then, I summon SlenderProxy Rocker and Thug!"
My two Proxies appeared on the field.
"Now, I tune level 4 Rocker to my level 4 Thug to synchro summon Slender Sorceror!" I said.
My Sorceror appeared on the field, with 1900 attack points.
"Now, I use his effect," I said. "I reveal the top 3 cards of my deck, and for each Slender or SlenderProxy card revealed, you take 500 damage. I've got SlenderProxy Sniper, Slender Dragon, and SlenderProxy Mistress, so you take 1500 damage!"
He was reduced to 2800 life points.
"Now, I use SlendArcher's effect!" I said. "His level will now become equal to Slender Sorceror's level, and you take damage equal to his level change times 500. Since his level changed by 1, you take 500 damage!"
He lost another 500, and slipped into a brief trance.
"Now, I build the overlay netword with these two level 8 monsters!" I said. "Now, I xyz summon Chaos Slender Man!"
"Oh no you don't!" Gordon said. "I activate Overlay Cancel! Now, I cancel your xyz summon, and banish the sumoned monster from play by tributing a monster I control and sending cards from my deck to the graveyard equal to your monster's rank!"
He sent 8 cards from his deck to the graveyard, and Chaos Slender Man was banished from the game. My field was now empty.
"I set two cards and end my turn," I said.

"My turn," Gordon said. "I banish fire attribute Magna Drago and Fiery Archer Of The Brute, along with dark attribute Axe Dragonute and Armageddon Knight to call forth Burning Shadow Dragon!"
"Oh fuck," I said.
He now controlled a 3000 attack point behemoth. I was royal fucked.
"I banish fire attribute Tyrant Dragon to have my monster gain 1000 attack points!" he said. "Now, end this!"
"I activate the effect of SlenderProxy Guardian from my graveyard!" I said. "By banishing this guy, and paying half my life points, your attack is negated!"
My life dropped to 1550, and another vision took me. I saw the Game Master and my father speaking in the hospital hallway.
"Your son would make a great Emmissary once he's older," the Game Master said.
"I'm not sure that's what I want for him," my dad said.
"Well, think it over," the Game Master said. "In the meantime, why not allow him to have a power. Whether he becomes an Emmissary or not, having a gift like that could help him a lot."
" guess," my dad said. "But just a small one. Nothing too fancy."
"A small power it is," the Game Master said. "I shall give him the gift of instinct. Natural talent which will pull him through the most trying of challaenges."
The vision ended, and the truth sank it. I had an Emmissary power. I had always thought I had never received one, but I had. My instincts. It was always my instincts that helped me win. Whether I was fighting servants, playing a children's cad game, or taming a goddamn dragon, I had always relied on my instincts.
Of course, it suddenly hit me that I had the dragon card. If I could bring it out i might stand a chance.
"I end my turn," Gordon said.

"My move!" I said, drawing. "I normal summon Slender Subbordinate!"
A mini Slender Man appeared. it was level 2, with 0 attack and defense.
"With this card, I can special summon a banished Slender card!" I said.
"I see," Gordon said. "Planning to bring back your Chaos Slender Man?"
"No," I said. "I was thinking more of the original! Come forth, Slender Man!"
My monster appeared before me.
"Time to teach you a lesson!" I said. "I tune level 2 Slender Subbordinate to my level 8 Slender Man to synchro summon my newest monster! Corrupted Star Dragon!"
The Dragon I had faced in the Streams Of Destiny appeared before me. It was level 10, with 3000 attack and defense.
"Since Slender Subbordinate and Slender Man were used in a synchro summon, they'll both be banished," I said. "Now, I'll use Corrupted Star Dragon's effect! By banishing two monster from my graveyard, I can either dish out or recover 1000 life points. I'll choose to banishthe Second and Third to regain my life points!"
My life increased to 2550.
"Now, I'll have Corrupted Star Dragon attack Burning Shadow Dragon!" I said. The two monsters destroyed each other.
"Great," Gordon said. "Now both our fields are empty."
"Not for long," I said, activating one of my face down cards. "Look Familiar?"
"Epic Rematch," he said. "Using the card I gave you, eh?"
"That's right!" I said. "Now, we both gain 500 life points, and ur monster return to the fireld, and must do battle again!"
Burning Shadow Dragon returned to hid field, and Corrupted Star Dragon to mine. Hislife became 3300 ad mine rose to 3050.
"Next, since Corrupted Star Dragon was revived from the graveyard, he gains 1000 attack until the end phase!" I said. "Now, attack!"
His Burning Shadow Dragon was destroyed, and he took 1000 damage.
Something suddenly came over him. His skin turned a sick, black color, with red markings all over him. A single, dragon like wing sprouted from his back, and a dragon like mask formed over his mouth. Spikes grew from the back of his head, and claws gre from his hands and feet. This wasn't his Star Spawn form. This was something different. It didn't seem as powerful as his Star Spawn form, and it looked painful for him.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
He began speaking some weird, twisted language, but for some reason, I could understand him.
"I'm fine," he said. "Let us continue."
"Alright," I said. "I end my turn, and my dragon's attack returns to normal."

"I draw!" he said, still in that weird language. "I activate Delta Draw! By banishing three monsters with the same name from my graveyard, I draw two cards! I banish my three Red Eyes Black Dragons, and draw two cards!"
He drew twice.
"Next, I banish Burning Shadow Dragonfrom my graveyard to call forth Chaotic War Dragon, Brute!" he said.
His ultimate Fear card rose from the darkness. It's black smoke was suffocating. It was massive, with 3500 attack points.
"During my battle phase, the Brute gains 500 attack for each of my banished monsters!" he said. "I have 9 banished monsters, so he gains 4500 attack! Now, end this!"
His Brute, now at 8000 attack points, readied its attack. I had to act fast. Thank god for my super instincts.
"I activate the trap card Back-Up Proxy!" I said. "When a monster I control is attacked, I can banish a SlenderProxy card from my hand to add it's power to my monster! I banish SlenderProxy Quan The Enhanced to add his 2900 attack to my Corrupted Star Dragon!"
My Dragon's attack rose to 5900. Not strong enough to survive, but strong enough to defend me.
"Back-Up Proxy also cuts the damage I take in half," I said. "So I only take 1050 from that attack."
I had another vision. This one was the longest yet. I saw my father, hunting down someone. He chased himfor a while, shouting "Run all you want, descendant! You can't escape me!"
My father cornered the man in an alleyway. He was wearing a hooded robe, so I couldn't see his face. A red spike grew from the palm of the man's hand, and he turned to face my father. They becan fighting. During the fight, the man's spike tore off my father's hood, and my father's arm knocked the man's hood down. They stood frozen, staring into each other's face.
"You!" My father said.
"How cruel fate has become," my uncle said. "That you and I should be on opponent's."
My dad tackled my uncle to the ground, pressing the barrel of his gun into my uncle's temple.
"You don't want to do this," he said weakly.
"You're right," my dad said. "But I have my orders."
"You don't have to do this!" my uncle said. "What about my son, Ben? You're nephew?"
My dad cocked the gun.
"Tell me something," he said. "My wife. Your sister. Is she... the same?"
"Yes," he said. "But please, she doesn't know what we are are, you don't did to get her involve-"
The vision ended with the sound of a gunshot.
"The Brute's power returns to normal," Gordon said, still in that language. "Now, I ativate Darkfire Blast, so by sending Dark attribute Dark Influence Dragon and fire attribute Master Of The Flaming Dragonswords to the graveyard to deal you 1000 points of damage!"
My life dropped to1000, and a new vision came to me. My father, outside my old house, with an almost empty bottle of whiskey in his hand. He stormed in. I remembered this night. I didn't remember what was said. Not until now.
"You're one of them," he said.
"Have you been drinking again?" she said, accusingly.
"Yes, I have!" he said. "After what I just found out about you, I needed a fucking drink!"
"What are you talking about?" she said. "I've never hidden anything from you."
"You're entire family has been hiding from me!" he said. "I should have realized it sooner! Coins! It's an anagram of Scion! You're family's been in league with thwem all along! Fucking Malkator's!"
"Watch your mouth!" she yelled. "David might hear you!"
"He's just like you!" he said. "A filthy descendant!"
"A what?" she asked.
"A descendant!" he said. "Of the filthy Vision!"
"The what?" she asked.
"The Fear of destiny!" he replied.
"You've had too much," she said, reaching to take the bottle from him.
"Don't touch me, you monster!" he snapped, slapping her with all his strength.
And then it happened. Like I remembered. My monster stumbled backwards, falling over onto the table, breaking her neck against the wooden elephant. My father stepped back, realizing what had just happened.
"Oh god...," he said. "What... what did I just do?"
He looked sick. He ran to the bathroom, and... well, you know what happens next. I woke up from the vision. It was all clear to me now. My mom had a brother. David Malkator. The man I had been named after. The father of Benjamn Malkator. My cousin. Malkator and I were cousins. The truth was clear as day now.
"I'm...," I said. "I'm a descendant of the Vision."
I looked up, into the eyes of the Dragon, staring hungrily at me. I was so much more than that. I had the Vision's power, but there was another power, sleeping inside. A power that could help me win.
"I end my turn," Gordon said.

"I draw!" I shouted, putting all of my rage and emotion into that draw, giving creation to a new card. "I banish the level 10 Corrupted Star Dragon from my graveyard! And with it, I summon Chaostic War Dragon, Brute!"
"It can't be!" Gordon hissed.
"It is," i said.
This was it. Two Brute's facing off with each other.
"I activate the Brute's effect!" I said. "During my battle phase, he gains 500 attack for each of my banished monsters!"
With all of my cards that were banished, the Brute had more than enough power to end it. I attacked. I won. Gordon was consumed by burning smoke, and he died, screaming in the Brute's hellfire.

I came to in my room, with my ancestral grandfather, the Ace Of Chaos, standing over me.
"So, is it true?" I asked. "Am I..."
"You are our progeny," he said. "One of two who were destined to bring peace to the world. Your cousin fulfilled his destiny for putting a stop to the Game Master's master plan. And you... you are the one who is destined to kill the Jack Of All."
He disappeared. It all made sense now. The Jack Of All knew I was destined to destroy him, so he tried to have me killed. But he didn't make it easy for himself. He turned it into a game. Me versus him. That's what Gordon was for. A failed attempt to bring me down.

I'm ending this blog. I'm going to do what I can to fight Jack.

It's time I washed the blood from my hands.
